With a brief panoramic Tour
of Merida, we drive to Zayil and Labna through Kabah, to Uxmal, complete

the Calakmul Ecological Reserve. Our
hotel today is a small, simple, but clean jungle lodge with modern facilities

drive to Chetumal and our hotel, on the shores of the Bacalar Lagoon. Overnight.
Opportunity to relax by the Bacalar Lagoon shores. Then, drive North to

Morning sightseeing in San Miguel de Allende, one of the historic towns
where in 1810 fight for Mexican Independence began. Drive through Dolores
Hidalgo, where Mexican Independence was proclaimed, and continue to Guanajuato,
famous for its rich silver and gold mines, many of them still active. Overnight.
Visit Guanajuato, including “ La Alhondiga ”, a landmark in Mexico’s
Independence, the Teatro Juarez, University and Market. Afternoon drive through
the Mexican farmlands to Morelia for a short visit, and continue to Patzcuaro,
home of Tarascan tribe.
Early morning, enjoy a boat ride in Patzcuaro Lake. Time and conditions
permitting, visit Janitzio Island; see the butterfly net fishermen, and stop in
the colorful local markets. Afternoon drive to Guadalajara. Accommodations and
overnight, but before that, don’t miss a walk to Mariachi square to enjoy the
lively Mexican music at it’s best.
Morning Guadalajara sightseeing, including the Cathedral, Teatro
