Campeche
At the city of Campeche traces of the Spaniard occupation still can be seen in its many churches, buildings, houses and neighborhoods. In Colonial times the city was the main seaport of Yucatan's Peninsula suffering continuos pirate invasions, that explains the existence of seven the bastions that we can admire today. Additionally the city has interesting museums like the Estelas, Saint Charles (San Carlos) and Santiago.

Campeche has several archaeological zones with the remains of several pre-Hispanic Mayan cities as the also called Calakmul, a site with the biggest amount of Mayan archaeological remains founded up to this days (more than 6,750 structures) as well as tallest pyramid in the country, and Balamkú (another archaeological site).

The vast littoral of Campeche, washed by the waters of the Gulf of Mexico Sea, additionally has adequate beaches for swimming like the Arena (sand) Island in the north to the Atasta Peninsula in the south.
